Mount the unit on a solid wall. For standing chest and spine views, the recommended mounting height is about 500 mm above the floor, so that the bucky covers the adult chest range with the vertical travel of 1000 mm. If your room will mainly serve standing or wheelchair patients, confirm the preferred height with Newheek’s engineer before drilling – the design allows the mounting position to be arranged to suit your examination table and workflow.
Align the pair of tracks with a level before final tightening. The structure of the unit is simple: a bucky tray set, a pair of tracks and a balance device. Once the tracks are vertical and parallel, the tray slides smoothly over the full 1000 mm travel without binding.
The balance device holds the bucky tray at the height you set. The unique L-shaped rotary handle locks the tray firmly, so the operator can move the film holder up and down easily and release it at the exact position needed. The protective buffer design avoids hard stops at the ends of travel. After installation, run the tray from the lowest to the highest position several times to confirm the movement is smooth.
Center the bucky with the tube’s light field, then fix the unit. The design makes it easy to focus the center, which keeps the grid aligned to the beam and avoids grid cut-off on the image.
The 35 mm bucky slot accepts different sizes of normal X-ray cassettes, CR cassettes and flat panel detectors, including 14×17 and 17×17 sizes and wired or wireless DR panels.
